Soccer, I get it now

The world cup has showed me a couple of things. 1) soccer as I remember it, 20 kids chasing after the ball at recess where the word “pass” did not exist except in the case of a spastic attempt to blast the ball up-field, is likely a thing of the 80′s, never to re3turn. US institutional knowledge of soccer technique among the parents was that orange slices and caprisun at halftime rock. Now I see there is actually passing, crossing and pulling forwards offsides.
2) I’ve notice the appeal of watching Soccer (there is only one football in the US) is that it runs continuous no TV timeouts, no chance for between the innings or rounds or quarters for commercials. just 45 min and 45 min. Halftime is the corporations one shot to push product and thats it.
Nice. So what the scores is 1 – 0, at least a few or more times a game I’m on my feet in excitement due to a rocket shot that misses or gets saved. Baseball and believe thats my sport, I never leave my feet except for a beer. Feet leaving is for playoffs homers and game winning hits exclusively.
So good on the rest of the world liking this sport. It is fun for americans to watch soccer once every 4 years.
